First Snow!!

Woke up this morning to take my sister back to school and there were big fat fluffy snowflakes falling from the sky! Everything is rapidly becoming soft and white.  In the dark of the morning it's so still.  Probably not the best for my 8 hour drive today but I'm excited anyway.  In celebration of the snow I thought it'd be appropriate to post this little diddy now.

Sleeping On the Job

This is part of my cafe sketch homework. We had to take 1 or 2 of our, very large, all about that shoulder movement, gestures from class yesterday and clean them up a bit. Did my two while watching Matilda last night on TV.  I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid, but Trunchbull is still just as scary! Especially when she chases Matilda and Mss Honey around that house! I definitely wouldn't want to be them.

Did this little sketch for a little warm up earlier today.  Besides class I haven't done much work these past two days, so I felt like I needed to get back in the swing of things here. Lots to do!

Life Figure Drawings

Here's a few example's of what's been happing in figure drawing lately. Mostly 15 second warm ups and 2-3 session drawings.

Excuse the crinkly pages! I bought a brand new sketch pad for class and the next day it completely fell apart, yeah! So now I'm always dropping it and all my pages fall everywhere. At least it makes life just that more interesting at 8AM. And life as a student goes on. :]

Thought I'd post some quick color studies I did for one of my Janie pieces.

Postcard

Finished the little creature a few days ago but I wanted to see if I changed my mind about it before posting, but I don't think I have!

It's been a crazy past few days, I've been on the road with my family for most of it. First visiting my sisters would be college in the mountains of New York [so beautiful but very very isolated] and then back down here to Columbus to start the final stretch of classes before graduation. Scary and exciting! So hopefully more good things will be popping up around here for you all to see.

Postcard WIP

Started working on a postcard for myself. This is what I have so far for one of the sides, but it is very much a work in progress. I've been sketching a little creature to be running through the trees and designing how the other side should look.

Did a project recently with an old gangster from the 1920's and a young couple from the 1950s. Spring break is here now though, and the weather is suppose to be so nice for Ohio, very excited!
